This is a full page advertisement for White Lies debut album 'To Lose My Life', a full page is more likely to grab the attention of the magazines readers therefore enticing a larger audience. The image on the advertisement is simplistic, it is the artwork used on their album 'To Lose My Life' this further advertises the album. The image is black and white, the large black space above the image contrasts with the white writing, making it more memorable. The font is the same throughout, this is the same font that is on the album. There is a small amount of text on the advert but the text that is there is small, this shows that the band are focusing more on the image. The text is small but very informative, it tells you when the album is going to be released, the different forms in which it is going to be released for example 12 inch vinyl, download and CD and their website. This suggests that they are trying to get as much publicity as possible. However there is no image of the band which is quite entropic, this suggests that they are not trying to promote the band image as much as their music.
There are no critics quotes which is another entropic element as you would usually expect this for a album release advert. There is no clear gender focus as the image is black and white and of a landscape, this implies that they are reaching out to a large fan base with no clear target audience. Although, they are quite young therefore they would probably appeal more to a teenage or young adult audience but this is not made apparent by the advert as the band are not featured.
